What are the three main advantages of ribbon optical fiber patch cords?

The first advantage of the ribbon fiber patch cable is that it can save time and reduce installation costs. Since the optical cable is pre-secured (usually consisting of 12 independent optical fibers), the installation personnel and technicians can perform simpler and faster quality fusion splicing, thereby simultaneously joining all the fibers in the ribbon matrix. This means shorter installation time, lower installation labor costs, and faster recovery during downtime. 

The second advantage of the ribbon optical cable is to increase the "fiber density within the given optical cable. Due to the increase in the number of optical fibers in data centers, fiber density becomes particularly important. 

The disadvantages of ribbon optical cables: Traditional optical cables can be smoothly bent in any direction - the movement plane of ribbon fibers is limited by the specified bending radius, but they can only be bent along the longitudinal axis.
